showcasing a simple flower punch

Hi all, Ive been looking for some simple ways to demonstrate punches and after reading some other peoples ideas found this pretty one that will work great! not my original concept. this is done on a quarter A4 size card stock using a scallop border punch for the trim. The flower is not Stampin up but the same idea will work with their 5 petal flower punch! I used the spring bouquet punch for the center of the flower, I know this is not in the current Stampin up catalogue but you could replace this for the larger Bo Ho blossom punch. After punching out the flower i glued it back on offsetting the petals to create peep holes through the card inked the petals and covered them with crystal effects and added glitter. Stamped a saying and it's done!! how easy is that to both demonstrate and make!
Blessings to you

Adding Butterfly parts /video

Hi all, after my last post and having some more play time with my butterfly punch ......Ive come up with i think is a great addition to this already great butterfly punch from Stampin up. Ive added a body and antenna all using the same butterfly punch....let me show you.

First punch a butterfly the colour you choose mine was DP paper called pink flamingo next in a coordinating colour ...mine is chocolate chip, to use for the body and antenna thread this back into the punch just picking up the lower part of the wing with the same on the punch and clip this off. This is now your body so glue this to the middle of your butterfly.

To make the antenna's go back into your chocolate chip punch out and just pick up the lower section of the wings and punch! Glue these to your butterfly. See my video for a tip on how to glue these!! and to finish i added crystal effects to both the body and antenna and sprinkled green fleck glitter over the top and your done! how cool is that! The tutorial for the puffy flower I added to my card is found here on Creations by Corie blog.

I hope you enjoy this butterfly tip!
Blessings to you

Stamps were ... Inspired by nature, sincere salutations, flight of the butterfly.
Inks, close to coco, choc chip, basic black

Hello again, where has this week gone?? Dave is still at home on his long service holidays and we've had our son Ben at home from having surgery on his toe. Beth made a surprise visit home from Uni for the weekend which was so nice and still hard to say goodbye again! So I'm in my craft room late at night trying to sneak in a post for you all. Been looking around on the net as you do and came across this cute little baby jumpsuit idea. Here is the original designer and her link, she used all circle punches for hers but i wanted to show you how to do this with those great Stampin up punches. She has some beautiful things so pop over and take a look!
It was one of those days when it took me a million takes to get the video right...my son is still teaching me how to edit!! so i ended up with a heap of Jumpsuits and was really annoyed then I though i should make some thank you cards with these and so it eventuated into a baby box set you could give to a new mum. I love how good things come from sometimes really frustrating situations then you really see God at work! The stamps and colours i used were Stampin up's

Life Definitions #115928
Defining Alphabet #116354
Flight of the butterfly #115798
Big bold Birthday #116342
Perfect Plum card stack and ink
Pale Plum card stock and ink

So for the Jumpsuit you will need:

And to make the safety pins for the box you will need:

The Box is really simple and Ive included how to make this on the video below. A few close views!

When i give this away i will include all the extra safety pins i made so the new Mum can put these on a scrapbook page! ......I also wanted to show you what my daughter has been up to at school, she is loving textiles this year and has just finished and handed in her assignment for last term. she made a quilted Duffel bag....

Then bought me home this cute Owl book mark for my Bible she made in her extra time in Textiles....isn't it sooo cute!!!

Well i hope you have enjoyed these fun projects, you can purchase the products i used from my Stampin up web site!......until next post

Oval punch Bird 2# video

Hi all, I hope you have all had loads of easter blessings, i know we were blessed with our daughter being home from uni and hard again to say goodbye. well Ive been playing again with my oval punches and come up with another different bird! i really liked how this one turned out and looks great with or without the wing. I especially liked how you use all the bits of the oval for the different parts of this bird...thats called getting the most out of it for sure! So you will need from stamping up:

One wide oval for the body, tail and wing, small oval to double punch the head shape, one 5 petal flower from the spring bouquet punch or you could use some other flower punch for the beak and the 8 petal flower from the spring bouquet punch to double punch the wing. Also some thin strips of card for the legs.

I had a play with the shape of the bird and once I liked the tail end fatter than the head I made a template punch to keep with my punch art so I can get that same shape again. Really quick and easy little bird...I have also added another recipe to my kitchen blog...its been a while ! click here for Vegetarian sausage rolls they are sooo yum!...enjoy....Valita

Butterfly punch Pansies / video

Hi all, happy easter for this weekend we have our daughter coming home for a Uni break which we are so excited about and it will be one year on good Friday that Granny passed away....where has this year gone! this easter will be happy which we need so badly so i just wanted to wish you all a happy easter aslo. Today's post was inspired by some talented ladies after i had done some looking around on other blogs. This first one is by Janet another by Mary Jo.... also one by Tina arnt they gorgeous! I don't have any re inkers as yet as all my pads are new and very juicy! so i decided to experiment with just the pads with getting the colour on and was really pleased how they turned out.

Theses were done with 2 Stampin up butterfly punches so quick and easy! I sprayed the punch outs with water and dabbed then into 3 different colours...moving the colour around with an aqua brush.

Summer Sum, Bravo Burgundy and Elegant eggplant.

I then let then dry for a few minuets until they were damp not wet and shaped them with my knitting needle. this gave them a ruffled looks to the edge of the petals. Set them to dry completely and put them together with a brad. last I added some glitter to the center and some vein lines with a sponging of the elegant eggplant ink around the edges. they are so beautiful, they remind me of my mums pansies she would grow in the garden when i was little! she loves the deep burgundy ones :) so Ive attached a video here and you can see exactly how Ive done these ....happy easter everyone!! remember Jesus died because he has an overwhelming love for YOU!
