Little Paisley birds

Hi all, I recently bought a set of dies from Quickuts called nesting plaislies for the purpose of making paper birds I got the dies and then weren't real sure how to go about this until I came across theses gorgeous free standing birds that Jennifer had made from the craft Patch  I made a few of them just because they are sooo pretty! pop over and check these out ...... here is my version of them.

We are off to my nieces wedding on the weekend so I took these dies a step further and made them a wedding card using the bird idea. Really happy with the results! I used the largest Plaislies die for their bodies and the smallest for their wings with two different emboss folders. The beak was a heart punch. Below is a pic of how I cut the tux for the groom. His bow tie was done with two small hearts glued pointed ends together with a regular hole punch out in the center.

You can also see in this below pic how I cut the veil from the scallop oval punch. To finish the veil I added a glittery jewel.

The bouquet was done using the smallest rolled flower die from Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms and the leaves are from Marianne design creatables. Lastly I backed my card front onto the largest spellbinders die called Romantic Rectangles. I used an oval scallop punch out to sponge on some clouds for a sky background. I hope you enjoy these projects sit back and enjoy the video.

Making roses for weddings / Valentines with one circle punch

Hi all, Ive been playing with my punches again and come up with theses cute roses all made with one circle punch, pretty cool hey! I am always aware that some people don't have lots of different punches to make flowers but most have a circle or can easily buy a circle punch.
My written instructions only $3.95

Another little cool trick I did on this card was to use my round grapevine wreath die from memory box to make straight borders. I cut the wreath in half and thread them through my Xyron sticker maker making sure you keep the going through the machine fairly straight then added them to my card. Another cool use for that wreath die. In my next post I'll show how to make a birds nest with the same die.... for now the rose and wreath details are in the video below!

I hope this has given you another fresh idea and use of those many craft gadgets we have sitting around.
Blessings to you

what happens when I'm not in my craft room

yesterday I was flat out cooking for Christmas and wondered into my craft room to find Beth & Ben doing there own creative video! It was pretty funny though as they had spent ages trying to figure out how to fold paper for a snowflake cut out. I had to post this, they are both very creative by nature but i guess that's what time off from Uni dose ...... slows the old brain down LOL Ben loves anything star wars and so they decided to make storm trooper snowflakes ..... the moral of this story? print the pattern provided its there for a reason...hhahhahhah had to laugh! So my desk was pretty messy after but hey they had fun .... love my kids.... Dave had a great birthday too! Oh and heres a quick video follow up on some recommitment plans ( embossed napkins and another flower decoration ) refer back to my simple invitation post ...sit back with the videos for a laugh ( and yes Ben those bauble are glass!)
Blessings to you

Remember, as a believer in Jesus, the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives on the inside of you. There is no challenge too difficult, no obstacle too high, no sickness, no disappointment, no person, nothing that can keep you from your God-given destiny. God will turn what was meant to be a stumbling block into a stepping stone, and you’ll move forward in strength, full of faith and victory! (Joel Osteen)

Simple Invitations to celebrate

Hi all, where has time gone!! its almost the end of the year with our youngest finished yr 10 and our two older young adults finishing their first and second year of Uni !! our little family is certainly moving on in different directions. So we told the kids our Christmas surprise when they were up on the weekend! we will be hiring a house boat for a whole week over Christmas on our local Nambucca river, fishing 24/7, swimming and relaxing together, couldn't think of anything better :) and we also had one other surprise. Dave and I will be recommitting our marriage together in a small get-together of a few close friends on a dock down the river and will have the house boat for the last night. We have spent the last three years working through past problems and hurts with a great christian counselor which we will be ever grateful for. We also discovered along the way that some of our happiness moved out with the kids and we had to get it back. Our faith in a God who ever cares and love us has paid off we know now we can face the years to come without our kids at home with joy and happiness and a love and respect for one another. So these are the invites we sent out and some glass tags we made..... very simple but elegant, you can also watch the video below on how i made these and I hope you may get some ideas from them..... enjoy
Blessings to you

new computer ! with everything sorted :)

Hi all, Finally I have everything sorted out with a new computer. Its taken a bit longer then excepted as I have had my son helping me over the phone from Uni (didn't want to shell out the dollars to get someone else to reload things etc) but it was a good test of patience and realizing I can do quite a bit of this now myself :) so just a quick post to let you all know I'm now back and to show this wedding card I made today. The flower was made with a spellbinders die set called Flower creations and I'm not on sure the name of the stamps Ive had these for a while. enjoy

Heart punch dress

Hi and thank you for the overwhelming comments on my last post its so nice to know you enjoy these projects and for your concern with the recent flooding in Australia. My nephew in Brisbane has been evacuated from his house, i'ts under and Ive been in contact with my brother who lives in Toowoomba and they are all safe thank the Lord! there house is higher up out of the central business district where it was hit bad but they have his mother in law living with them who did get flooded out badly, they all still need our prayers. The heavy rain is coming down south, Grafton which is 3 hours from us is having major flooding and has the main highway cut off and our water ways are very full now too so if it keeps raining we too will have flooding in our valley. I also did my first day of motel cleaning which was hard work but im just so happy to have work and be able to help my family financially :)

On an lighter note this is the dress version of my heart punch lady, it would be a great wedding card of course lol or even a graduation or special anniversary / evening celebration card. The rolled rose was done with the 1-3/4" circle punch cut in a spiral and rolled around similar to my rolled scallop rose tutorial.

The dress was made using the largest scallop circle from the large scallops nestabiblity dies set, with a piece cut from either side pic below....

I embossed the skirt with the sun rays folder from craft concepts which i bought off eBay... not sure who else sells them But you could use another pattern or just leave it plain. And this is the card i made for someone special getting married soon hence the colour scheme.

For all the details on the bodice part of the dress plus shading ideas please refer back to my valentine heart punch couple post
now sit back and enjoy my video :))
Blessings to you

valentine heart punch couple

Hi and welcome back to my first post of 2011. I hope you all have had a lovely Christmas and new year, we had a quiet Christmas with my parents and brother with his family and an even quieter new year. Both Dave and I have had Birthdays is this space of time and things have been busy working our cleaning job a part of each day and then fitting in some family holiday time together as well...... also some very frustrating things have happened which have really challenged me to see my faults and work towards making life happier not just for me but my whole family. Our Daughter Beth is doing summer camps for 2 weeks as counselor, Ben is being fitted up for his new job plus helping Dave and I with our cleaning job and Madaleine has had some good work over the holidays and then off to summer camp herself for a week as camper before she starts back at school again...... January is flying already! also letting you know we do not live near all the devastating flooding happening in Australia at the moment, that is a lot farther north but my brother lives up there and they need all our prayers very badly!

My first paper craft idea for the year is a Valentine/wedding idea. All you need is the large heart punch, large tag punch and a 1' circle punch, these can be purchased through me from stampin up. So quick and easy to do! To make both couple you will need 4 hearts & 2, 1"circles. For the man cut a 2cm or just under 1" slit down from the top of the heart, don't go all the way through. Bend back each side to form the jacket opening and cut a small wedge from each side. Ink the edges and add a small button with a spot of black maker then a small blob of crystal effects. For the lady punch from the top the large tag punch to form the neck line ( see below pic). punch 2 scrap 1" circles and tape these together these will be a mask to do some darker shading under the chest area. Next punch another two 1" circles to create the lighter shading with white on the chest. see below pic

Put the dress aside and with small foam dots attach the 2, 1" circles to the skin coloured heart... about 1/8 0f an inch from the top. glue the dress over the top .

Stamp sentiments used were from the set "well scripted" from stampin up.

Do the same for the wedding card only using different colours, here I used bashful blue and the below pic has details on how i made the veil, punched the neck line and rose bud.

I have also made a full wedding dress using this idea so stay tuned form my next post :) now sit back a watch my video. Oh and thank you all those who have subscribed to my YouTube channel i now have over 1000 subscribers wwoo hooo :))
