Hello, sorry i havent posted for a while... for me it feels like ages. Its been such a busy week with organizing my new cardmaking lessons which will be starting at the end of this month and madly trying to finish my Fresh Fold Flower sets for sale. Inbetween that our son came off his bike in the skate park and hurt his shoulder Dave took him to casualty to have it all checked out..and a tetnus needle.. thank the Lord it wasnt broken. He's a bit sore, sad and sorry at the moment though. Our younger daughter was crying her eyes out last night because she sat on one of her baby mice while tring to nurse them all and our older daughter was up till all hours last night finishing an assinment (due today) for her Sutddies of Religion class and fell asleep when she'd almost finished. Woke up early this morning to discover she hadnt saved her work properly which had vanished and was distrort...well that woke us all up by then.
we spent the next 2 hours trying to recover her work and with alot of prayer and Bens computer skills we found the assinment 2 min. before they had to get on the bus. sigh!!!!!!!!!!! im stuffed now....so to take my mind off all this i sat down ...after id done the house work of course and made this card for you to enjoy... if you need help click back to the fold example post....call it letting off some steam.the pattern is below..oh and on top of all that our easter plans fell on there face. well sometimes life deals all sorts of stuff up for us i am just thankfull God cares.

World Day Of Prayer

Hello....today is world day of prayer so i thought what a great excuse to create another fold pattern. Im please how it turned out but i must admit there were a few tricky folds and the hands seem to be hard to make look good...but i found a use for the cute little world die from cuttlebug and stamped a stamp of the world over the top . Below is the pattern and if you need help with the folds go here to learn more. Our church is the host church in our area for tonights service so ive had my son and his friend making palm leaf crosses to give out at the door.
My prayers go to you today as fellow crafters world wide...have a happy sabbath....Valita

Birthdays for the seniors

Hello Just a quick post today as ive got Tea on the go and the kids are almost home from school. I like to feed them when they get home or they will graze until i do cook tea. I was asked to teach a card class with the younger youth in our church as this year they are making it one of there aims to get to know all the seniors in the church. So to help that along we made enough birthday cards for them all for throughout the year. We had 2 groups going 1 were doing the cards and the other were making birthday cakes then they swapped around. They had heaps of fun and licked out many mixing bowls....got some good pics of that...hheheheh.
Heres the sample card I made for them. They loved using all my toys ...who woud'nt! very easy to make cards but they came up realy great. And some pics of the groups with their faces blured for reasons you all understand.

I know the oldies will love this and pray it closes gaps and brings us all together as Gods children....have a lovely day...Valita

These cards were sent to me by Regina. Shes done a fantastic job. thankyou for showing me your works of art Regina i just had to share them with the rest of the world...Valita

3D Easter Eggs

Hello, well Autumn has started and im sitting here with cold fingers and toes already. We love this season the weather is cool enough to snuggle under the doona at night and warm enough to go for a swim in the day, Perfect! the stars are also very beutiful here at this time of year. Gods blessings are all around. Now to these 3D eggs.... these are not my original idea but i like to pay with ideas and see how i can tweek them.

You will need :
Oval punches or dies
printed paper of choice
stamping inks
ribbons
shape punches to decorate
double sided tape

to make the hanging egg i punched out 10 ovals inked around the edges folded each in half pattern side in. Using double sided tape start to stack then up in 2 lots of 5 ovals.

Until you have something that looks like this. I was looking at different ribbons one day and saw these hair ties thought they would be great for something....thinking of scrapbooking at the time and bought a whole bunch of them

Lay one half of your egg out and attach ribbon down the center leaving a loop at one end and tape both egg halfs together then tie a bow through the loop to hang with. Decorate with other shape punches or however you like.

Heres a card i made using the same concept but i used 10 smaller ovals and attached it to my card as a half egg to give it a really full look you could add more ovals to the above hanging egg also. Have a lovely start to Autumn or Spring where ever you are in the world...Valita

Fresh Folded Eggs for Easter

Hello world :) Today im introducing my fun Fresh Folded Eggs for easter. All These patterns are created by me. After making many iris folding patterns i felt they needed more depth and dimension rather than the boring same swirl of the regular Iris Folding, so i invented the corner folding technique.... hence my Blog name Fresh Folds . Once you give this a go you'll be hooked! Remembering these patterns are used with a basic knowledge of how to Iris fold. I'll be adding more sets as time goes by so check back often i have some nice designs up my sleve!
If you are interested in these patterns please email me.

I hope you find this new technique as fun and as fresh as i have. And Im here to give any help in making that happen for you....heres a pic my DH took when i was finishing these pattern sets.

Excuse the messy table some how i seem to work best when its like that!! heheh. And i finally got my new emboss folders that Dave odered for my birthday...ill have some fun now.... have a lovely Day..Valita

Make your own Prima flowers

Hello from my house to yours. Weve had so much rain here everthing feels damp but I'm not complaining weve been needing this rain so bad and its a real blessing and answer to many prayers.
How many of you have a zillion and one punches...um er me...well dig them out and I'lll show you how to make these Faux Prima flowers. Ive never bought any Prima flowers the reason manly being that i have so many punches that i couldnt see any good excuse to buy more punched flowers. So i got to thinking and realised that i had a heap of handmade type cardstock which worked perfect. One thing i discovered was some punch shapes got that nice Prima look and others mmm were ok. Here the 10 petaled flowers worked best from L-Em.com (for the Aussie girls) but you may already have something much the same. Its also important you use a nice handmade cardstock for this project to get the look were after as it bends and moulds to shape very nicely. I found mine in one of the cheap shops... it always pays to get things when you see them cause you never know when you need it...this is the hauder comming out in me...heheh. So here are some pics of ones i quickly made... you experiment and and see what you can come up with.

Ok so heres how i made mine..........Punch out your flowers and make small cuts in between each second petal
next with a fine embossing tool score lines down the center of each double petal section and fold up to give it a good crease.

Lay your flower on a an embossing pad using the larger ball end of the embossing tool start making circle motions at the ends of each petal pressing the paper in. small tip I used a small pad saved from a packet of brads and its just the perfect size to take to card classes and not bulk up my bag.

Now when your happy with the indents youve made flip the flower over and give it a good firm press in the center of the flower which will make the flower pop up.

And your done ....how easy was that! so next time you need all those primas flowers but have all the punches save some money and give it a go...Valita

Special Moments

Another card i made for the same baby shower. This one was inspired from Brenda a very talented lady from the COC forum. I started to IF(iris fold) the pattern but got so side tracked with the cut out.
I used my emboss folder to give her dress more dimension giving the illusion of the shape of the baby inside and it just happened that the pattern also matched the cuff of her sleve and neckline. One advantage with the cuttlebug emboss folders is you can see through the folders and place your paper where you want. I also inked around the edges etc.
The flowers and leaves are a cuttlebug die. The word verse took on a different twist ive not tried before. As always you dont have just the right verse or wording for your card so i hunted around my stamps and found one from Hero Arts that almost fit. then just inked up the top and bottom words leaving out the word Bouquet and stamped this first. Then using the word experience from See-D's stamp set (my set is called A Word or Two) i simply stamped this into the space that i'd left and I have a whole new verse stamp cool hey! i think it looked great in a different font also it puts more meaning into that word.

Sorry i cant share the the pattern for copyright but thanks Brenda im really pleased with how this card turned out and it was very well recived at the baby shower.

This is the verse i wrote in the card and
a last thought for you today
