Hi all, First i want to thank you all so very much for your thoughts and prayers, Dave has a job!! we are all really excited for him and thank God for answering so many prayers. He is working with the traffic control and is really enjoying the fact he gets to do something different each day, is out in the fresh air and sunshine and so far has met some really great blokes who just want to work. He just finished all the courses you need for this kind of work a week or so ago and this means he will get half the money back for the 4 courses and his shoes and pants paid for. We also had a generous offer form the school principal to pay our fees if Dave hadn't found work, God is so good. We have been reading the book "It's your time" by Joel
Osteen and have found this so encouraging when pushing through doubtful thoughts. He really felt God had something for him this week and he had 3 phone calls from employees on the one day wanting him to work. God works in amazing ways and at a time that He knows is best. This whole experience has shown me also that we are not in control, God is. So thank you all again for all your support you have sent our way in emails prayers and thoughts i can really say they were felt and appreciated! :)
So now to the card. My aim was to make a Christmas card using the least Christmas type supplies
eg stamps, punches and colours. Lets face it we only use those Christmas supplies once a year! so for that very reason I try not to buy too many Christmas supplies. So the colours for my card (from
Stampin up) are Peach Parfait for the base with So Saffron and Old Olive borders. Inks used were Peach Parfait, Old Olive and Black. Stamps were the rose from Fifth Avenue Floral and sincere salutations punched with the scallop oval. The flower was made by
Chat, from "Me my stamps and I" you can pop over to her blog and check out how she did these gorgeous flowers with the Fancy Flower punch.
Ok so whats left is to show you is how i made the Holly berries .... and Christmas accents.
Using the 2 step bird punch from
Stampin up I punch just the branch and trimmed away parts of the leaves so I was left with a bare branch look. Using a regular hole punch, punch 5 circles and glue to the branches. Cover the berries with a small amount of crystal effects and dip in some red glitter. last squirt a large blob of the crystal effects on each berry and let stand to dry. You can then use these in your flower sprays along with the holly leaf punch from Martha
Stuart.
This is the glitter I used to create my fury tinsel border. Please don't ask where I got it ...it was ages ago but i would appreciate if anyone knows where i could get some more and maybe in different colours and shapes (small circles). I ran a generous line of
tombo glue along the border and covered it with the glitter.... cute hey! :)
So i hope you have enjoyed this idea and can use it in your Christmas card making. For now Ive added some pics of those gorgeous puppies at 4 weeks old then sit back and enjoy the video.
Blessings to you
and a last thought
You are controlled by your
new nature if you have the
spirit of God living in you.
