Just a quick post today to let you all know i have resigned as a
stampin up demonstrator. For the past weeks now someone has been reporting me to head office and they have been ringing and asking me to edit or remove my posts and videos as they contained or I promoted non
stampin up products and i was breaching their policies. I have been with
stampin up for a year now as a hobbyist and my decision to resign is that I was NOT going to edit or remove any of my blog posts or video clips, as you could imagine how much time, effort, and creating goes into these things.( I will still have to edit things anyway) Although this has been upsetting my biggest disappointment was that not once, even in my resignation email did
Stampin up thank me for 12 months of creative input ........ inspire.create.share ........ that's what i was doing. When I first joined my husband said to me I hope this doesn't limit your creativeness, and you know he was spot on! it can do that and it did, the world of paper crafting is huge! and
stampin up is just one part of that. my biggest peeve is that I'll continue to use the products because I love them but be a passive advertiser for them anyway. I respect the fact that so many make
stampin up their sole business but for me this would only limit my creative flow. I figure you can only get pruned back to
blossom somewhere else even
more beautiful.Blessings to you
and a last thought
Dear brother, is your life full of difficulties and temptations?
Then be happy, for when the way is rough, your patience
has a chance to grow. So let it grow and don't try to squirm
out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in
full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, full and complete.

Horrible Valita. I was devestated when you were on "vacation" during your good weather and we didn't get any videos. Sail on girl, you are way to creative to give in. I use to be a CM consultant and they were the same way. Paper crafting has evolved beyond SU and CM and they need to understand that as home based businesses they can't carry all products. I'm sorry to see this happen, sneaky people really bother me. Love you ideas and use of SU up products I've purchased lots I probably didnt' need because of your videos.
ReplyDeleteLisa
I have been a follower for some time now.. I think you are amazing and very talented. When I see you have posted a video, I wait to watch it with my full attention as to not miss a thing. Thank you for all that you do to share your talents...
ReplyDelete((((hugs))) Carrie
Good for you! I had joined Stampin Up also as just a hobbiest. Just a way to get their products a little cheaper. But after a year, I couldn't afford to keep buying enough to stay in, so I dropped out. This was before they really clamped down on only using/promoting their products. I'm friends with the demo that first introduced me to Stampin Up and she tries to talk me in to coming back but if I'm limited to just their products.....no thanks.
ReplyDeleteI've been a follower of your blog for several years now and I noticed your posts decreased when you joined. So now I'm looking forward to seeing more from you again!! Keep up the good work! You do some amazing things!
I'm sorry you had to leave SU but you are in good company as so many CREATIVE ladies have had to say "so long" due to the restrictions SU places on us.
ReplyDeleteLove your work and look forward to all the things you have yet to create!
Their huge loss Valita. I always watch for your new creations and wonder at how you could use all their products in such different ways. Can't wait to see what you come up with now with out any restraints. :-)
ReplyDeleteValita, they need you more than you need them. Go forward, girl. You are a great talent and you certainly don't need SU to keep your creativity flowing. It's sad that companies treat their talented staff this way. Look at it as a learning experience. There are plenty of us out here who love and admire your work.
ReplyDeleteYou are not the first blogger that I follow that has recently had SU ask them to change things or remove things. The other blogger also resigned (and she was in the Founder's Circle). Truth is that they do have good products, but they don't have everything. Here's to not having that extra pressure on you to meet minimums! :) I'm looking forward to your future posts!
ReplyDeleteYou are way too creative to just stick with SU! How dare SU asked you to limit your creativity!
ReplyDeleteWell I just hope you can keep up your videos. You have done some amazing things with stampin up and non stampin up. I am a full SU Demo only and use only it, but man I have spent more on things I have seen you do. and I am more than capable of changing or altering cards when casing them. Unfortunatley you are not the first demo to resign. :(
ReplyDeleteI wish you Good luck for your future projects!
ReplyDeleteThat sucks Valita..I really really really dislike dobbers in and I believe in karma baby so sure hope that comes back to bite them.
ReplyDeleteIm soo sorry that SU loses you but can totally understand your reasons. People cannot stay out of others business. What a mean spirited person to do this..they are jealous obviously. What a loss to SU you are.
Valita
ReplyDeleteIn agree . you can't put limitations on talent of which you are chock full of , there is a reason for why things happen and I believe you will better for it . I know that after I have checked out your blog I feel better for it , you inspire me to create and I just love to see what new you have created , you are a very talented lady and I hope you continue to create and inspire , I am a fan and will continue to be .
thank you for all your hard work it hasn't gone unnoticed

oh valita, i am so sorry to hear about this. But as the other say also you are so creative in your own right and the gift God gave you to share with others. all I can is I love your blog and come here every time as I have this need to see what you are doing next. keep on creating and don't let no one stop you. Go Girl!! you are loved very much.
ReplyDeleteHI Valita! I'm SO SO SORRY that you've had to resign from SU! I have learned SO much from you - you are BRILLIANT! Thanks bunches for your help. I'll still be watching out what you do and good luck with your paper crafting! I agree - it really is SU's loss. Go girl go! :)
ReplyDeleteOh so sad to see you leave SU but totally understand. I love your creations and you are very very talented. You can only go forward from here. I will still look forward to seeing your amazing projects, you truly are inspirational. Thanks
ReplyDeleteTheir loss for sure. I'm thinking they'll eventually realize the amazing creativity and talent they've lost. Ah well...you certainly won't lose any followers over this. I love seeing the things you create!
ReplyDeletethis is terrible! I cannot believe (actually I can) that someone felt the need to 'tattle' for such a minor thing, and really, who doesn't use non-su stuff? I am a demo too, and saddened that SU felt the need to force you into this decision, it is a shame that they can't see the bigger picture. Your generosity of time and creativity is such a loss to their business. Keep smiling, you have many more supporters than you do detractors, and those that feel the need to interfere in other peoples' lives are clearly unhappy people, perhaps that is karma at work.
ReplyDeletewarm thoughts to you,
Kylie C
It seems there are more and more cases of people dobbing on each other these days. I don't understand it. The craft world is such a wonderful and sharing place, and dobbing on fellow hobbyists is just wrong.
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame you had to resign, SU's loss for sure. I can't wait to see many many more of your inspirational creations. Good luck!!!
Valita,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that SU! has not worked out for you. I live in the US and have found your work truly inspiring! I hope that you continue to post wonderful work no matter what products you use. It is a shame to see you go but I look forward to more work from you. Congrats to you sun and good luck in all you do.
Chandel
P.S. I am a consultant for another company and wished they would go out of the states so I could get you on my team. You are a truly talented woman!
Dont go to far you are such a talented lady and I absolutly LOVE your work.....much love Denielle
ReplyDeleteValita while I'm so sorry you have had to make a choice and leave SU, I believe you are headed for greater things. This dibber dobber business is one thing I certainly don't miss from SU. People need to learn to mind their own bloody business!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the new found freedom to use whatever the heck you want on your blog and promote the heck out of it while your at it! lol

Valita I hadn't popped in to your blog until I ready the threads that Delys had posted in support of you and I respect her as SU! demo and talented papercrafted...so I popped in here to see what you do...and guess what...now you have another follower and I want to come back to check out more of what is here on your blog! It seems to me that SU! are losing some very talented papercrafters at the moment and it seems more may follow. May your patience grow and you bloom in to something even more spectacular!
ReplyDeleteLeaving SU is a good decision. I wouldn't let them cut my creativity either. Keep on your good craft-working. Grettings from Germany
ReplyDeleteHello Valita,
ReplyDeleteI think SU is making a big mistake by demanding their demonstrators to use SU only! You are a true artist and I agree that it is a much bigger lost for them then for you. Another very creative person from Canada, Andrea Walford, had to make the same decision, and she is such a talent too! Love your video's!
greetings, Petra
Valita, I have followed your blog for years and it's a shame that you had to leave SU but it's their lost.
ReplyDeleteI also was a demo for Su for many years and it got to the point I couldn't afford to be my best customer anymore. It bothers me that the company will not allow anyone to use other products they don't carry for our artwork. I have seen a few blogs now that has had to resign from SU because of using a different product. I think that is rediculous. And to those turning others in for this, all I have to say is shame on you!!
ReplyDeleteValita you do wonderful work and I look forward to coming to you blog, watching your videos and seeing your artwork. You do amazing work and I will continue to watch and drool! Thank you for sharing your creativity with us, you see things with punches and stuff that most of us don't and you share that with us so we can bloom also. Please continue to share and not let this stop you. I will continue to come to your blog and cheer you on.
angel hugs
Debby
Valita it is so sad that some people could do that to others. I love seeing all the ideas that you come up with so please do not let them stop you from being creative.
ReplyDeletekia kaha valita. don't let the buggers wear you down!!!
ReplyDeleteI love coming to your blog you have given me so many lovely ideas for cards, your videos have been really helpful, just wanted to say how much I appreciate your work and sorry for the hassle su have given you.
ReplyDeleteWell, you're not the first and you certainly won't be the last. I applaud all of you ladies that make the right decision. Nobody has the right to dictate what you do with the products you buy or how you run your blog. SU is rapidly getting a very bad name for itself with so many talented and high-profile demos leaving them. Keep up the good work and I look forward to more of your totally inspirational work.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your beautiful work and you will continue to grow. SU products are great, but they dont cover all facets of papercrafting and rules may be rules, but its the interpretation of them that SUCK, and it also depends on how high on the food chain of SU that you are as to how the rules are interpreted. From someone who has been reported in the last couple of days, it sucks as I still cannot understand the rule that I breached. I think that I stomped accidentally on someones toes. Makes me wonder if I will continue. They publicize how many new demos join, but how many drop out, that figure never is revealed.
ReplyDeleteToo bad SU can't see the value in you using other products that just enhance their line. They seem to be very short sighted! They do have great products but they do not have it all. You are an inspiration to me and I will continue to frequent your blog! I would not let anything or anyone stifle my work!!!You should not either!
ReplyDeleteHi! I became a follower because of your creativity, not for the SU! stough you used. We don't have SU in The Netherlands and that's a shame, but when I read your story that demo's only may use SU, I think it's selfish from them to cut down one's creativity when they forbid to use other material then theirs.
ReplyDeleteHope you understand, my english is not that good!
But I wish you all the best with your new freedom and we can enjoy it all with you.
Love from The Netherlands (Europe), Annemiek
And another follower!!! Will miss seeing your stuff on the SU website so in support of your truly wonderful efforts and fantastic creativity, I've subscribed to your blog! Can't keep a good woman down, as they say! Keep up the fantastic work, Valita - another page in the chapter of your life and I hope it's a very good one - you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteC Nash, Cairns.
So sorry you had to leave SU due to the pettiness of another, but your creativity and your work will live on. I look forward to following this new chapter in your journey!
ReplyDeleteOh Valita!! I'm so sorry this has happened to you! What an awful experience it must have been. It's definitely SU!'s loss. *Big hugs*
ReplyDeleteThis happened to me as well. I WAS a loyal SU! demo. But I also paint murals and sew and they had a problem with me posting about that. Can you imagine??? Another demo turned me in....she had the nerve to tell me in an email that she did. I was furious, but now I laugh about it. it's their loss as far as I am concerned. Good for you!!!!
ReplyDeleteSadly - this is becoming only to common where people are dobbing in others or saying nasty things. And YES - being on design teams or being a demonstrator can and does block creativity. Just do your own thing and go your own way - you have plenty of local followers that love your work and we will be here watching and waiting for more great ideas
ReplyDeleteValita, I am so sorry this happened. I'm not a huge SU fan (little too kitschy for me), and you certainly made their products look good! I even considered buying some of the products featured in your videos because you gave them a different look. Their loss, not yours. I will stay tuned in! You are a fantastic teacher. Can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve!
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI was afraid that this would happen - especially when I saw your posting for Peachy Keen stamps. I left SU when they first started all of this nonsense. I read everything, looked at the videos, listened to the reasons for the new policy and thought no, not for me. To not be able to even post on my blog of another blogger who used other products was too much.
I am sorry for SU more than anyone as they have lost and continue to lose so many wonderful stampers. When a company starts to be this rigid they are in trouble. No one makes everything. No one.
I am sorry that this happened to you Valita, this tattling on each other began when the changes all started and continues to this day as you have learned. There are so many SU bloggers out there who are abusing these 'rules' of SU that it is sad when someone as wonderful and creative as you is caught in their sad nonsense.
Wishing you a great day today! You have so many followers who love you that this is just a small thing in the big picture!
Hugs,
Barbara Diane
I'm a long time follower of your blog -- you do amazing work! Keep up the good work - looking forward to your future posts!!
ReplyDeleteTheir loss not yours. If that is the way they want to be, then move on to something bigger and better!! I love your creative mind and enjoy all the things you make. I check out your blog each morning to see what new things or ideas you have posted. In this economy, they need to get what sales they can and not be so picky. They should know and understand that not one person is going to use only their products. Now that your not a rep. anymore, why in the world do you still have to satisfy them by removing or editing your posts? I would tell them to stick it you know where!! I other concern is for the person who kept on ratting you out. It sounds like they were just jelous of your talent, I really feel sad for that person, cause if they have nothing better to do, then to go around and report people, then sounds like they need to go get a job. As always, I will continue to support your blog and all your wonderful creations!
ReplyDeleteHello Valita,
ReplyDeleteI am a recent follower and I love your videos. I am happy that you share whether it is SU product of not. They have taught me so much. I hope that you continue to make videos with the creative freedom that you deserve to have as an artist.
Valita, your my favorite blog!! SU's loss because you are an amazing talent!!! I'm with CTMH and we would LOVE you :) Keep up the great work and know that there is a woman in the Midwest USA that does a happy dance whenever you post. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWho has nothing better to do than tattle!!! Valita it is SU's loss, you are so talented, and I thought you did an excellant job promoting their products. But now that the doors are open, the skies the limit, bloom away! I can't wait to see what's ahead!
ReplyDeleteValita,
ReplyDeleteI have been watching your amazing videos on Youtube since last year. You are one of the most amazing and creative crafters out there, and no matter what SU says--you will continue to be an inspiration to me and so many others. I know that the next opportunity will find you soon!
Sincerely,
Aparna
Valita,
ReplyDeleteI had just discovered your blog and LOVE It!! I hope this does not keep you from posting your wonderful work for myself and sooooooo many others who follow you.
I love SU products but do NOT like their policies. I encourage you to move forward and keep your talent moving forward and not let a company or policy restrict your god given talent.
Love your scripture verse and pray Gods blessings on you today and always.
Love,
Fita
Who needs SU? Good for you. To limit your creativity is just ridiculous. Besides it is their loss, not yours. I just hope you don't stop doing your web site. You come up with the best stuff every. I always look forward to seeing what you have developed now. You and Selma are the most creative people I follow. Thanks for always sharing. So does this mean you can not use SU products anymore even if you are not a demonstrator/seller for them?
ReplyDeletePlease don't go away!
Jackie,
Oregon
Hi Valita,
ReplyDeleteI have been a follower for some time now.. I think you are amazing and very talented. Keep on your good craft-working. You dont need SU. I wish you all the best and send you grettings from Germany, Dagmar.
You go girl!!! Their loss. I know SU has good products, but frankly because of the way they have treated other demostrators in the past (and now you) I buy other brand products...there are lots of other good brands around...my opinion is SU's corporate policy seems to be narrow minded and stifling. Do they offer a "bounty" to tattlers? Isn't it sad what jelousy and envy will do to some people? OK, I'll get off my soap box now! I love you and the creative things you do and share and I thank you for choosing to continue to do so.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Della May
It's a shame that SU is losing so many creative people due to their stupid rules. I love your work and am so glad that you decided to not let them stand in your way. You are so talented and creative, and I look forward to your posts so much!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand and support your decision. They are losing someone valuable in losing you. I am looking forward to seeing your unrestrained creativity fly to even greater heights!
ReplyDeleteHow utterly foolish of them to lose one of the most creative, talented, innovative supporters they've ever had. You've give su users new ways to use the products and non-su folks reasons to buy. It truly is their loss. I look forward, as always, to each and every one of your wonderful posts. hugs to you, eileen
ReplyDeleteValita, I have followed your blog for a while and you do lovely work. I have seen several bloggers I follow faced with the same situation you found yourself in and they too left SU. How can SU insist you only use their products when there are areas they don't fill? When I first heard about these rules (no I am not a demonstrator) I have started to hesitate buying their products.
ReplyDeleteThis policy of SU's is also insulting to the people that buy SU products. Do they think if a demonstrator doesn't mention other products out there, we are too dumb to find out about them and stick with SU? Had the opposite affect on me.
Good for you Valita! Their loss. These are the reasons I don't become a consultant for any of these different craft companies as I can't be limited to one product. This is what makes the world go round and it's a shame that these certain companies don't realize this.
ReplyDeleteYou inspire me all the time with your fantastic videos and I can't wait to see more. :) Yours is the first blog I found when I started back into card making and you have inspired me ever since.
~Hugs, Terri
I have no respect for people who "tattle" on others. It's ridiculous. I'm sorry you quit SU but I respect your reasons for doing it.
ReplyDeleteKeep your chin up. You should be proud of your creativity. You do wonderful things!
ElleCee
Valita. So sorry "S"U has done this to you. I too thought about becoming a SU demonstrator but it felt creatively stifling. I enjoy your blog very much. You are so creative, your instructions are amazing. Please know that many people are inspired by you. I for one am happy that your creativity will not be "controlled" by an obviously blind corporation. Please continue to inspire but with an increased knowledge that you are inspiring many craafters.

It took courage to leave SU but it was the right thing to do. Their products are very good quality, but their vision is too narrow.
I have been following you since you were designing patterns for Iris Folding along with Pete Lord & all the others. Your talent is a treasure & a gift from God.
We are all blessed by your sharing.
Thank you.
God Bless.

Congratulations on your decision - as you say, it is all in the timing tomove on.......as I also recently did, too. I hung on way too long and felt I was being squeezed by SU to purchase their products. The cuff links were getting tighter and tigher. I am looking forward to see so much creativity from you with other brands - it is veru exciting!!!! It is a loss for SU, for sure!!!
ReplyDeletemy best,
Patti
How disgusting for some one to report you. Your blog is a wonderful inspiration. I am so glad that you will not be letting them dictate to you. It is their loss. Keep up the fantasic work and thanks so much for sharing it all with us.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry Valita. It really hurts when you work so hard and not only does the boss not notice but picks on you instead. I do believe that eventually these companies will lose so many truely creative, inspired, and passionate talent that will will lose serious sales. You are not the first blogger I follow to leave and for the same reasons. I know CM has a similiar policy. It has caused serious trouble in a no longer existing crop club. The leader would be so upset when we used non CM items. You are a lady full of God's wisdom and grace. You listen carefully for His voice and seek His direction. This is a door to even better things.
ReplyDeleteI have been an avid follower of your incredible talent for some time. Sometimes we have to open that new door to more wonderful opportunities. Wishing you continued success and creativity - look forward to seeing more from you in the future.
ReplyDeleteLet me join the others in telling you how sorry I am that you had to make this decision. I LOVE the ideas you come up with using the punches. I just don't think out of the box like you do. Best wishes on your future creative freedom. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
ReplyDeleteValita it is stampin up's loss. You are such a talented lady and I look at blog everyday to see what you have made. And the person who just had to run their mouth will loose in the long run. They are just jealous that they are not as smart as you are. You just keep the cards and video's coming. I love all of them and have been so inspired by all your beautiful work. Blessings from the US.
ReplyDeleteNorma
Wow What a shame that someone out there has taken it upon themselves to be the stamping polic. Shame on them. Stampin Up has lost another Great Demonstrator. You are not the first one I have heard about. Keep your chin up and keep creating I will still visit your blog daily.
ReplyDeleteI really, really hate this bullying that Stampin' Up likes to do. I am a firm believer that "what goes around comes around." Things like this will come back to them. Valita, you are so amazingly talented, and, even better, have such a strong faith. I will continue to be a firm fan of yours on many levels.
ReplyDeleteJenny
I am so sorry to see you go from SU. I understand completely why you made this decision. I just recently found your wonderful creations and I will continue to follow you no matter who's product you us. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteValita - How very sad that you have had to come to this decision! However, like so many other ladies here have said when one door closes another opens. Your work is AMAZING! Just think of all the creativity that you can unleash now! I love coming to visit your blog and see the wonderful things you create. Keep your chin up and keep creating! Best wishes to you!
ReplyDeleteAll things happen for a reason and I don't think you are wrong for leaving SU. Their loss for sure. Love your videos and great ideas. You are so talented. I've learned so much from you. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that this happen to you...I've been a follower of your blog for a while and because of you I'm a better crafter...
ReplyDeleteSU is WRONG...
you'll haveother reason to move on cause your teaching and technique are the best...
Please continue doing your video
because you have many crafty friends who will follow you...
May God Bless You...
It's funny that they call us "Independent Demonstrators", yet try to control the way we run our business -- whether we are hobby demos (which I am, too) or doing so well that we achieve Founder's Circle. I love your creativity and ingenuity! You inspire us, Valita!!! I pray that you will find fulfillment in your business and the choices you make. Your freedom to create and share is more important to your well-being than any organization should be given control.

It took courage to leave SU, but was the right decision. They have a good quality product, but their vision is very narrow. They may wake up someday & discover they are Not the only toy in the sand box.
Thank you, Valita, for sharing your God given talent.
Blesings,
mary l.
Valita, PLEASE do continue to CREATE.INSPIRE.SHARE! I just feel sad that SOMEONE out there feels the need to be the stamper police...it happens over and over. But you have your loyal followers to buoy your creativity...keep up the inspiration!! blessings, esther
ReplyDeleteYou have been wonderful, sharing all of your creativity!! You did promote their products and of course, I bought them, because of you. It is a big loss to SU, that you are no longer a part of their company. I will continue to look forward to reading your blog!!
ReplyDeleteWow Valita Just Wow! Im so sorry this has happened to you. Keep your chin up as we all still love you and your work.Thank you for taking the time to share your creativity with us.
ReplyDeleteBravo!! YOU GO GIRL!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you stuck to what YOU believe in. those corporate types think they are so wonderful and then they poo all over their people. Sorry this had to happen to you. I do believe that you are such a creative person that this set back by small people will not affect your creativity.
Pooh of the reporter -- who made them the police --???
I'm so sorry you have been pushed out of Stampin Up and I totally agree, it it their loss. I have been a follower for a while and I love all your work. You have been given a talent and I'm sure it is helping ladies. You have truly helped me after the death of my husband to keep crafting as it brings so much joy.
ReplyDeleteKaren

Stampn' Up has lost an awesome, creative demonstrator.
ReplyDeleteI have been asked to be a Stampn' Up demonstrator and have refused because of this exact reason. I do love a lot of their products. But like your husband said...it would limit my creativeness.
I have also asked to be on some designer teams, but again, I don't want to have to work with products or papers that don't speak to me.
Keep doing what you are doing, I love your work.
I admire you for standing up for what you believe in :)
Its sad to think that a company like Stampin up would not want to nuture your talent and use it to promote their products as you have done in the past. Definately their loss. Please keep up your great demos as I always look forward to your great ideas and just love trying them out. Just wish mine turned out looking as great as yours do
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Cherie
I'm glad that you made the decision to leave SU rather than stiffle your creativity. You have amazing talent and are so generous in sharing it with us all.
ReplyDeleteI'm a regular reader of your blog and just love what you create and share with us all.
Sally
I am so sorry. You are so talented and do not need SU getting involved in your blog. I know about their policy but I don't agree with their policy. This makes SU look bad. You keep on keeping on.........Judy
ReplyDeleteI was seriously considering joining SU as a hobbyist until I heard about their new policy. I love a lot of the SU products (as can be seen on my blog) but I also love a lot of the CTMH products which my niece sells. Along with all of that are the vast numbers of paper craft companies that are out there now. I was amazed the 1st time I went to Scrapfest here in Canada to see all the different stamps, paper, and embellishments I could buy.
ReplyDeleteThat's sad that you had to resign from SU. I loved your blog & video. You did a great job. I enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteWhat is wrong with people...who has the time and energy to spy and report on talented gracious people who share their amazing talent!
ReplyDeletePlease keep creating....I hope SU takes note on how many demonstrators are leaving because of their silly policy...and yes I am a demonstrator....you rock!!!
so well said. I agree with you, the crafting world is so much bigger than SU! I know you will do just fine on your own and I wish you the best. I love your blog. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteS.U. was my very first exposure to rubber stamping and they do have some nice products, but they expect way too much from their demonstrators (I was one for a short while) and place way too many restrictions on them. There are a lot of rubber stamping companies out there and I feel strongly that the Stamping Up business is going to be a dying breed sooner than later. I LOVE the cards and projects that you create and share. You are extremely creative and I'm sure that if you continue with your blog you will not lose any of your followers, but without a doubt will gain many. Congratulations for standing up for yourself!
ReplyDeleteIt will truely be there loss. I agree your creativity shouldn't be kept in a box of restraints. Blossom!!!
ReplyDeleteValita you are one awesome crafter,it seems SU cuts there nose off to spite their face, they seem to think they are the be all end all.It is definatly their loss. I look forward to seeing more mail updates from you.
ReplyDeleteLet the creative juices flow.
Jocelan
I'm sorry you have had this experience. The company is cutting off their nose to spite their face. I just found your blog a couple weeks ago, and while I don't have SU punches, I used my spellbinders punches, but was thinking about buying a SU punch for one that i didn't have. I will have to rethink that. Your stuff is incredible, please don't stop.
ReplyDeleteThe stifling of creativity is exactly why i quit Close to My Heart after 4 years. It's a big creative world out there and we can't be limited by boxes they want to put us in.
Im not a Stampin up demonstrator, but I was just recently talking to my friend who is and I was telling her about another woman, that had the same problem you had.I was saying how I didnt agree with all that stuff about how you have to use ALL stampin up stuff and nothing else. Anyway, yes there are soooo many other great companies out there. I myself dont buy very much Stampin up products. You are very talented and its there loss. I bet alot better things will happen for you, now that you are FREE!!! Good luck :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this news Valita, you are a wonderful artist in your own right. Keep creating and keep safe. Blessings to you and your family
ReplyDeleteIt's only in the last month or two that I discovered your blog and feel very fortunate to have done so. I am sorry for the recent problem that has come to light with SU. I was in a very similar situation myself, working for an online scrapbook store who would wanted me to post my projects but they could only show items available from their store. What a HUGE hindrance!! Especially, since we all know that 99.9% of scrapbookers, cardmakers, etc. don't exclusive purchase from one company alone - DUH! I was never happier than when I ended my work for them. I have since been asked by two other stores to work for them, but basically under the same guidelines and have specifically chosen not to, in order to remain true to myself and my creative juices. You, my dear, are in a "league of your own" when it comes to your unique creations and it would be a complete shame to hinder your talent by having your "wings clipped". Go forth, dream, create and continue to inspire us (please!!) with your God given talents! I thank you for the inspiration you have given me and I anxiously look forward to your future wonderous creations! (a Canadian fan)
ReplyDeleteWell judging by the amount of readers who responded you are a popular lady and we will continue to support YOU.
ReplyDeleteMyrna
Well Valita, it seems that everyone up there ^ has said what I thought. I know you are going to continue to be one of the best bloggers/card makers on the net and truly, it's going to be SU's loss. Perhaps that's why did the big 'crush' to get new demonstrators.... And to the big mouth tattle tale..... shame on you!!! I'll be watching your blog for more of fantastic ideas....
ReplyDeleteValita, you've heard the expression about "killing the goose that lays the golden egg". That is what SU has done, you are so talented that a lot of people have been buying SU products purely because of the demos you've done incorporating all sorts of products. Don't let them get you down, you're way smarter than they are.
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes from Dianne in New Zealand
I wonder how the "holier than thou" person who reported you feels tonight?
ReplyDeleteI just happened on your website this past weekend. I am so inspired by your work and how you share your talents.
Wishing you the best!
See all the support you have, Valita? There isn't much I can add, but best of luck. With your creative ways, you will soon be doing something even better. You should be designing for these companies! And thank you for sharing with us who are not so talented. You inspire me every time you blog. My scrapbooks are better for it!!
ReplyDeleteI have not had the time to read everyone else's posts, so I'm sure I will say the same thing as many others. I am disappointed in Stampin' Up! I LOVE their products, but I have not joined their company for this exact reason!! I have seen a few other demonstrators who have been "let go" because they use "other" products....doesn't everybody?!?! It just seems insane to me that you have to ONLY use Stampin' Up products!! It doesn't take away from any of us buying their products, so why should they "force" you to be creative using only their products?!?! That's NOT letting you be creative....not restricting your creativity! And I do NOT like that!! I will continue to follow you and support you with your decision. You should let your creativity flow through you now!! Big cyber hugs!!
ReplyDeleteOh Valita. I just can't believe this. I am so upset for you. I have been following your blog for some time and I just love your work. What a shame SU is so short sighted to push you out like this. On the positive side, you can go ahead and flourish to your heart's content now! Love you. Love your work!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry with your situation with SU....because they only want you to use their products I to have stopped going to CM workshops...they just aren't my 'style'....I love combining all techniques and embellishments. I love your site and your projects. Please keep creating.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Oh well, chalk it up to another learning experience. SU doesn't define who you are or get credit for your wonderful God given talent. Their loss .. done and over with, move on. We, your loyal followers, love you and your kindness to share your beautiful work. I have learned so much from you and hope you will continue to keep your blog and share all your fabulous ideas with us!
ReplyDeleteI agree with what everyone has said. Especially about the "big mouth tattle tail". How small can you get. You are awesome Valita and I am always anxious to see what you make. You were awesome to me last July when I needed something to put your pretty fuchsia B-day card in. And within a few hours you came up with the envelope box and even made a video of it. Now I see that it has been added to the resources of SCS. Love you for that and also because we are sisters in Christ. Cindy
ReplyDeleteValita, I'm sorry that someone had to be such a blabbermouth. Don't let it get you down! You are such a wonderful, creative person! I eagerly look forward to see what you are going to share with us next! When you don't post, it's like my day has a cloud over it! Keep your chin up and your creativity flowing with wonderful ideas! You have such a dedicated group of followers!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
One door closes and one door opens! The world is your oyster!

Their stupidity equals their great loss... You are one of the most creative people that I have ever encountered on the Internet - you are just absolutely awesome. It is truly a privilege to view your creations. Please don't stop creating - I don't care what product you use!!!!
ReplyDeleteSome may think that the devil in the form of a rat may have gotten you, but little do they know. You have been set free to let your creativity run wild. You go girl!
ReplyDeleteTake your freedom and run with it faster than that rat can catch you.
Just want to add my support. I love your creativity. Whenever you post, we girls get together and try to recreate it. Your artistic ability is so unlimited. Will stick with you and appreciate whatever you plan on sharing. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI hope that whoever did this terrible thing to you sees these postings...this is the very reason I won't belong to Stampin' Up.
ReplyDeleteOh, Valita, I am so sorry that you have had to go through this trial! I absolutely love your work & hope & pray you will keep it up! Spread your wings & fly & may God richly bless your endeavors!
ReplyDeleteI have only followed for a few months but am amazed at your talent...I will continue to watch for more amazing items..
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are not limiting your creativity based on someone elses limitations! Let those creative juices flow, freely and uninhibited!!! Congratulations on your new found freedom and please continue to share your marvelous work with us!
ReplyDeleteSad to get your news. I have been a follower here in the states, for a few months now. You have a God given talent. You are a special individual that shares with us less creative people and we SHOUT THank you!!!! Don't waste any energy waiting for a Thank you from SU.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderfull christian attitude about the whole situation. Don't let them steal your light!!
Hugs and prayers to you!!
Joy in Nevada!!!
Valita
ReplyDeleteI hope you can see by all the comments you have received that you definitely made the right choice. The thing I love about you is you create on a budget that everyone can afford. The most of us in the real world can't afford everything new that comes on the market. Please keep doing what you do best. You will never have to worry about your followers following you.
God Bless
Good for you, girl...you are way too talented as a creator & designer to be confined to one stamping supplier. I say GO FOR THE GOLD!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Your previous scripture hit it dead on....Jealousy is more dangerous and cruel
ReplyDeletethan anger. I wish people would just stop being jealous and petty and get a life. If they don't want to visit your blog and enjoy your creations, then move on. But to go behind your back and report you for sharing your creativity is just plain spineless and rude! It's a shame that SU is attempting to squash your creative spirit. I think all this will be a blessing in disguise for you! Big hugs you way! Rosemary
Vallita...I am so sorry that this has happened to you and as someone else said...shame on the one that tattled in you. I have only been following you for a short time but you are so inspirational to so many of us. I love everything you do and have saved a couple of your tutorials. I even found that embossing folder of the suns rays that you made the dress with. You are far more talented than so many people and you don't need SU to be the creative person that you are. I look forward to seeing what you c9me up with next and Vallita...God Bless You.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless You Valita!!! I am a hobby demo as well and my hubby want me to make youtube videos to share what HE calls talent...LOL...but I don't have exclusive SU products...I just started about 1 yr ago and I do not see any reason to replace a perfectly good heat tool, crop a dile, cutting mat etc. just b/c is does not have the Black SU name...I am to chicken to "break the rules" but I am proud of you for doing so...I became a demo because of you!!! I wanted ALL SU and could not afford it all so a demo seemed logical...Thanks for always inspiring us to think "out of the box" and for sharing your talent.
ReplyDelete10,000 Blessings,
Valerie Martin
I have followed your blog for a good long while, from before you became a SU demo. You were doing fine without them. :) Please don't stop blogging because you stopped with SU. You have wonderful ideas!
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry SU has done this to you. Shame on them. They have lost a lot of wonderful talented people with this new rule. I think before too long they are going to be sorry they went this direction. You are such a talented woman and I have learned so much from your videos. Please keep them coming. there are a lot of wonderful stamp companies out there with some wonderful product that would love to have you on board. You will find a way through this with your strong faith. I think it is also difficult to think of someone ratting on you. That hurts as well, but my guess is that they are purely jealous.Since SU made this rule I have found myself buying from other companies first to make a bit of a statement.I have also had many chats with my demonstrator and hopefully SU will begin to realize they are upsetting their customers as well as their demonstrators.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe it. I love looking at your videos and being inspired by them and just your creativeness. Shame on SU and shame on who ever reported you. No weapon formed against shall prosper.
ReplyDeleteValita, I am inspired by you with every post that you enter. You are so talented, creative, and you touch so many people. Do not let this hinder you from creating, now you can do it for you and the love that you have for paper crafting. You now have more time to visit and spend with your children at school. Keep inspiring us little people. God Bless, Bev
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love that you share your talent and I hope you continue to do so. I scan my emails everyday to see what wonderful new ideas and video's you have blessed me with. I'm really disappointed in StampinUp for trying to limit your creativity. It is a special gift that God has given you and no one has a right to try to diminish a gift He has given. Just remember that when He is for you, then who can be against you??? You will continue to flourish becaue God is for you and so are tons of other people. Keep up the good work. God bless you my dear.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new freedom, there is life after Stampin' Up! to the fullest :) Best wishes in your new adventure!
ReplyDeleteValita I've seen your amazing work and LOVE it. I've been only a SU demo for not quite a year now but you have inspired so many great creative ideas and I thank you with all my heart. Keep creating and I wish you all the best were ever your creative mind takes you.
ReplyDeleteTake care
Kim
I understand SUs position, but it is unrealistic that you use only their products. No company can be everything for everybody or even everything for a few somebodies. It doesn't work that way. I love your site your posts and look forward to seeing more creative posts from you as you are such a tallented lady. I have a few SU products but they have very little that you can't get somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteThe only losers are SU!, we will follow your blog for as long as you post and I hope that will be for a very long time. I really enjoy your posts and have learnt a lot from them. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.. I have friends who are hobby demo's who just resigned because of the same thing.
ReplyDeleteHappy Stamping.
Good for you for standing up for being creative and not limited to stamping alone,,,LOVE your projects and will keep on looking as long as you supply them,,, good luck for the future, there are so many opportunities out there.
ReplyDeleteI've seen how su has stress you with all there BS.When you and all those other beautiful, crafty lady's are making them rich from all your talent and lots of hard work and all the thanks you get is a rude phone call every week what appreciation. They don't deserve to be in business with such talent making them money while all they do is bag out there bread and butter.
ReplyDeleteHusband Dave xxoo
Valita, so sorry that this has happened to you, but what annoys me the most is that there a lot of other SU demos out there with references and links to other companies products, yet they are not forced to resign. And who made who the police blog. How can they sleep at night being that nasty a person.
ReplyDeleteI will continue to visit your blog, and enjoy your unrestrictive creativeness.
Hi Valita,
ReplyDeleteWhen I joined SU last year (mainly because my wish list was too longer than my income) I was so excited to encounter your gorgeous work as seen on the SU gallery and the link to your blog. On occasions I have so been inspired that I have given your projects a go myself and credited you to others accordingly. I have a very good paper crafter friend that was also a very active and creative SU Demo who had a blog and quit when these changes to their policy came about. It was also for this reason that I didn't join sooner, I'm sure its put a lot of people off, who like my friend and myself have worked and have a profil in the papercraft industry for years and don't want to be not able to play with all that is out there. For now I'm taking it one month at a time, but the moment I too feel stifled I'll be gone. You are soooooo talented and I love everything about your blog including your scripture share, major lose to SU, and like all your other follows pls don't be disturbed by the actions of jealous ones, time will come when these clauses might have to be readdressed. High 5 to your hubby for he's awesome support and observations too. God Bless- Ruthy♥
p.s I should say that its not 'on occasions that I'm inspired, but always inspired by what you do, but sometimes I actually sit down and do an attempt at some of your projects.♥
ReplyDeleteOh boy, here we go again!!!!!! Another SU demo forced into making a decision because of their ridiculously selfish rules. Ugh!It's sickening! Though I get very irritated each time it happens I am always happy for the demo who now is free as a bird to do & use what ever they choose in their creativity!
ReplyDeleteValita, you are an extremely talented person. I don't know you but from following your blog I can tell you have a beautiful personality as well! I totally love your blog & your creations and am always excited to see your posts! Now you no longer
have to feel stifled with rules & regulations when you create! :) There are SO many up & coming wonderful stamp companies out there who carry awesome products. What about Paper Trey Ink, Marco's Paper, All That Scraps, High Hopes, My Time Made Easy, Gina K. Design, just to name a few favs. The paper crafting world is growing & growing. Maybe SU should wake up, pinch themselves, sit up, and take notice that they are sure not the only fish in the ocean. But then again maybe that is what they are afraid of...... If they are as great as they think they are --- what do they have to fear? Like someone said in an earlier post, "What goes around, comes around", is totally 100% true.
Even though it may be hard for you right now, Valita, I have one thing to say to you, "BLOOM & GROW"! :) I can't wait to see more of your creations, Girl! So get to work!:) You are wonderful! P.S. Kudos to your husband for supporting and encouraging you in your decision!
Spoken like a man, Husband Dave! Very well said! Couldn't have said it better! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear you "had" to leave because someone is a tattle tale, and you can't express yourself creatively with their products and others - this is one of the reasons that I refuse to buy their products. I have belong to a couple of the SU groups and there is one gal who always stands out to me as the "upper and comer," - I have left 4 groups now because of her, sorry to hear this happened to you. Keep the creative products coming!
ReplyDeleteOh Valita... all I can say is
ReplyDeleteTHEIR LOSS IS OUR GAIN!!
Keep creating.....

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience! Companies like this boggle my mind, but I guess they'll learn after they've been petty long enough to run themselves out of business.
ReplyDeleteAbout the only place I buy SU stuff is at thrift stores. I just can't imagine a company treating its talented demonstrators this way, contract wording or not. (IMO, it shouldn't be in the contract.)
I look forward to seeing your creations as you "branch out"!
Hi Valita, I feel so cross for you, I don't blame you getting out, these people just can't tell you what you can and can't do with your creativity! It really winds me up that these people think you have to only use their products. You have so much to talent, carry on giving us those great tips and ideas and videos!!! Go for it!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Valita,
ReplyDeleteLove your work and have done for a long time now. I echo everything that has already been said. As you can tell by the number of comments you are much loved.
Eagerly anticipating your next blog post and project.
Minerva
I love all of your creations. I realy feel that Stampin Up has caused a lot of the demonstrators to leave due to their heavy restrictions. It's their loss. I will continue to look for your posts.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you one bit for leaving SU. Someone over there is not thinking clearly when they limit the ability of artists to create. Your work is inspiring others to believe in their own abilities. Rock on...I have your blog on my blog list. Love your ideas.
ReplyDeleteOh it's definitely their loss...I think you have been treated terribly and as you said not a word of thanks for all you've done.
ReplyDeleteI alwauys follow your beautiful work...don't always have time to comment though but believe me you are always appreciated by me and by the look of all the many coments you're appreciated by many, many more people. Will lok forward to your future creations.
God Bless.
Love Sheila xx
Now that your creative chains have been cut, I can't wait to see what you have in store for us all.
ReplyDeleteTO the person that tattled on you - they need to remember Karma is a you-know-what.
Keep creating, you have a gift.
Valita:
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your taking your creativeness to a new high level. I love SU, and use a lot of it, especially the papers and matching inks, ribbon, etc. I love the new clear mount stamping method. But I could never limit my stamping to one company, nor would I want to. I have never understood the greed and fear of some stamp stores and companies(and in your case another SU demonstrator) to be so afraid of losing a dollar if a customer uses product they bought from another place. I wish you the best of luck in your new stamping adventures.
Well Valita, a good measure of how highly regarded you are is the time it takes to get to the bottom of the comments list - I think I'm about 145! I only discovered you recently via Stampin' Connection and I have been amazed by your creativity and so thrilled that you've inspired me to look at my tools and materials differently. I really hope that you will continue to do amazing and beautiful things. What matters most is that it makes you happy and it certainly shouldn't cause you any stress. I don't really understand the reason why we are limited to certain products. The way I see it, there is room for everyone. Take strength from the caring and loving words you have received from all your followers, and please keep doing gorgeous things. You make the crafting world a brighter place.
ReplyDeleteI love your work and also feel you have made the right choice. The Crafting world is too big to be so restrictive to use only one company. There are only so many things that can be done with one product, then everyone gets the same results and that gets boring for the crafter and viewer!
ReplyDeleteI looked into joined SU a couple o fmonths ago, and my DH said the same thing to me as yours to you. I spent the money of lots of other craft stash instead which was much more rewarding! lol
Keep up your good work, I love it all and you have given me so much inspiration!
When one door closes, a window opens. Your window is now the world of paper crafting open to your creativity. Fly with it. You are very talented and didn't need your wings clipped. Thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteThat's really too bad. I very much enjoyed everything I have seen you come up with. I am excited to see what will come now. Keep up your great work with your designs.
ReplyDeleteOh I just hate hearing things like this. First I would like to say that the person who complained about you must be a very sad green eyed monster who has not got much going on in their lives.
ReplyDeleteAfter hearing this post and any others from demos who have left the company due to these facts I personally will not be purchasing anymore of their goods. They were very happy for you to sell their goods and pay your hard earned money ontheir goods, but when you have a grievance with them they don't even bother to say thank you for your hard work.To me it says it all about the type of company they are.
The worst part of crafting is the big money companies have jumped on the bandwagon and spoilt it for us.
Please keep up your lovely work anddonotlet them stop you from posting.
Love and Hugs Chris
Im so sorry to hear you have had to resign from SU. I was looking forward to meeting you one day at a Convention. I love your work and thank you for all your great ideas and the inspiration that you give to so many people. Take care and God bless
ReplyDeleteAndrea
It is your talent I appreciate, not necessarily the product you use. Love your creations regardless of SU.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Irene
Love your ideas. They are so inspiring. Too bad for SU to lose you.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your trials, but as you said when you get pruned, you can only blossom somewhere else. I just found your blog yesterday and was so thrilled to find all your wonderful ideas and inspiration. I am one who is VERY thankful for you sharing them so freely!
ReplyDeleteSue Stevens
Shame on the person for turning you in! I mean, come on now. But at least now you don't have to worry about what your posting. Can't wait for your next creation.
ReplyDeleteValita, I was a follower of yours before you joined SU and of course, will continue to be. Sorry this has happened to you but I know this will not hold you down. I would love to see more of your iris folding work again along with whatever your heart desires! You are one very talented lady. Best of luck to you and thanks for your great contributions to this craft.
ReplyDeleteI applaud your decision. This same thing has happened to other girls whose blogs I follow. I understand SU business end of it but I think they have gotten so big that they forget about the little people. So sad in this world of greed. I really like their products but I also use others and could be a demonstrator because you are limited.
ReplyDeleteValita! Way to go girl! Stand up for yourself! I dropped out of a couple of forums because of the fact they wouldn't allow posting of any project that contained other than their materials and I found it was very limiting on creating something... I say you can't put a cap on creativity... they wanted you in the first place because your were very creative, so it's their big loss... Keep up the good ( and creative! ) work!
ReplyDeleteGod bless!
Well I think everything that can be said has been said about SU and their policies. You are way to good to, I did the same thing last year so I totally understand.
ReplyDeleteYour amazing so keep up the excellent work.

YOU GO GIRL!!! You are entirely way to talented to just stick with one company. When one door shuts God opens a bigger and better door. We love you!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why people have to be so ugly. It is definitely their loss.
ReplyDeleteApril
I'm sorry that happened to you, Valita.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you probably know that you are not the first person SU! has done this to. As I said to the other person recently, you resigning is SU!'s loss.
Kudos!! to you for standing firm on your convictions.
Spot On!!! SU was a for season and now there will be greater things for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your wonderful gift...one that God gave and that no one else should control.
Looking forward to seeing what doors will open for you
The blessings of the Lord will chase you down and overtake you
patti moffett
You have a wonderful gift don't let anyone discourage you or take it away, I love your blog and ideas and I think we should share, God has blessed you. Sharon
ReplyDeleteI love your work. You are an inspiration to many people. Thanks for being who you are.
ReplyDeleteValita, I just found you, don't go away!! I love your work, your creativity, your willingness to share, inspire and create! You encouraged me and you didn't even know you did. :) You are one of a kind and as you can see from the previous comments, are loved no matter what you use for your lovely projects. I greatly dislike tattle tales. :(
ReplyDeleteYou have a great talent to share, it's sorry that SU doesn't recognize this. However, God does and He will keep blessing you so you can bless others with your beautiful ideas! Keep them coming girl! I'm glad I recently found you :) (ditto on the dislike of tattle tales.) Janet
ReplyDeleteStampin up should have been so honored to have a very talented, wonderful lady on there team, As far as I am concerned they should been given you a percentage on there products you have sold for them over the years just from people watching YOUR videos..It's there loss..... I continue to check daily for your next video or blog message.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for taking your time to share all your lovely creations with us
Hugs Cathy
Valita, you are way too talented for SU. They should be paying you for all you have done to promote their products. God bless and keep your creativity flowing!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel. I think that new rule with SU has hurt so many stampers. I was a demonstrator with them almost 10 years. I have always loved their products, and worked hard to promote them, but did not want to be told I could not keep up with all the other great things out in the stamping world. I made the hard decision to resign and have to say that many more wonderful opportunities have come my way. You have a great talent and know you will find many other rewarding things to do. You should be very proud of all the support you have received here.
ReplyDeleteI agree with most everything the ladies have said before me. You are one wonderful teacher and I love your work. Who know, w/o SU holding you back, you could be the next Tim Holtz. Best wishes and God Bless
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is that SU must be crazy, you are so, so talented, I just adore your ideas and inspiration.
ReplyDeletePowers that be can be real jerks. Sorry they made such an issue about it. Your blog is a favorite of many a demo, this one included, and I was never upset by your use of non SU products. Keep up the good work. We all love you.
ReplyDeleteSorry this has happened to you, the same as it did to Andrea. I plan to still keep you as a favorite.
ReplyDeleteSU lost a lot of great people in the US because of this rule - so sad. The crafting community should support all groups. I'll always be one of your followers - you inspire us to create such wonderful things. God bless
ReplyDeleteI love your work, please keep posting :)
ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteI have never been to your blog. I was just on Stamping Connection and say that this happened to yet another talented demo. I hope you know there are many demos that support you. I do not understand the whole concept on tattling (I guess it is because I am a primary teacher). I am bookmarking your site now because you have some wonderful ideas. Best of luck in this new chapter of your life!
Rebecca
I love your website, don't you change a thing about it.
ReplyDeleteYour so talented and creative. Stampin' Up should be so thankful to have a true artist promote their product, but the real person to blame is the jealous person that keeps reporting you. Obviously they are trying to "eliminate" the competition! And to the person who keeps reporting you...
well all I can say is - "Shame on you, hope you got what you wanted". Ok, sorry I had to get that off my chest! I came across your blog for the first time about a month ago, and I immediately put it on my "favorites" list. I'm pleased your giving up SU and not your blog. God bless you.

Hey! I am adding my comment to the long list ... how these comments must encourage you in your decision. I too am a S. Up! demo ... and I find this difficult to swallow... first of all the "tattling" and 2nd of all asking you to edit your creativity! you ahve done some amazing things with the S. Up! punches - they blow me away!!! You are a very creative and gifted gal! Please know that it is not about the product, it is about the gift!!!! I hope you will continue to share your gift with the world using whatever product meets your needs at that time! Phil 4:8 - think on those things that are true and noble and pure and lovely .... don't let the negativity of this situation bring you down! He is greater! Blessings on your, dear one, as you enter a new phase of your creative joourney! <3
ReplyDeletePetty jealous people...I am soon to be a non S/U demonstrator mainly because I can't afford it any more, this has happened to a few people recently, I was really amazed when the last brochure came the thing they wrote about most was how much money they wanted to earn this coming year!!! that seems to be their main objective, not people or craft. Anyway I love your work and always visit your blog..
ReplyDeleteRene from OZ xo
You are such an inspiration. Stampin' Up's loss!
ReplyDeleteValita,
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes for the future, this is only a minor set back, although frustrating and dirty tactics from S/U and those that wanted to bring you down. Go forward, you have great strength and faith and you will rise above this. You are very talented and creative, Good Luck!!
Oh Valita!!!!! I just read about your resignation and I'm so sad to read it. You are an amazingly talented stamp artist and I have loved your tutorials. I wish you all the best for the future and I will continue to visit your blog.
ReplyDeleteValita.... I just read this.. Oh, I'm with you. I know you have your creativity with no boundaries.. No matter which brand you join, I know that you will produce all the creations of your very own. I'm with you. May Jesus bless you and everything you do.. Go Valita..Go..
ReplyDeleteValita, sorry to hear some small little person had to stick their nose in, but I agree...can't wait to see what you do enencumbered by rules. : ) I love your work, and as a Su demo myself I wish Su would make known those who report you. It seems so sneaky and underhanded. Well, SU is losing many talented ladies and you are one of them. All the best and I will continue to watch for your new creations.
ReplyDeleteValita
ReplyDeleteJust had to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I espeially enjoy the ones that do not use SU punches - SU punches are really expensive as compared to the punches I can get at local craft stores using sales or coupons. I just can't fit them into my craft budget.
Thanks for sharing your creativity.
BRAVO!!!! I stand and scream cheers to you!!!!...what gives a company the right to dictate how you should run (in short) your life...now you are free to expand your horizons....and think of all the companies (real companies) that will gladly want you to demo their products (without strings attached)...I subcribe to your blog FOR YOUR TALENT and your informative videos. How you make the tools bring forth gorgeous designs!!! you show how much more the supplies (tools) can do then just punch, stamp, ect....and I became a follower to see how much more you have to share...
ReplyDeleteas for the little sneak....what goes around will come around back to you...what you did in hiding, you will be found out in public....
Valita...rise and let your light shine...Many Blessings to you...

ReplyDeleteYou are so talented and i am sorry SU! has made you resign. But as you said, you can be more creative and use whatever you have and sprout you wings! I love the projects you come up with and will continue to go to your blog and see what else your creative mind has come up with. I am also a hobby SU! demonstrator and I'm sorry someone "reported" you. Keep up the wonderful work you do and enjoy your family at "uni". Genie from Florida, USA
You are the second person in less than a month that I have seen this happen to. What is going on? SU has SOME good products but unfortunately when you see what's out there you don't want to be tied to just one companies products. Check out their demonstrators....it's all the stame stuff just different people showing the product..BORING!Honestly, there is enough room for everyone. Let the creative people choose for themselves. I think you will see that SU will become a dying breed! Their prices are high for what they offer but I will say that they do have decent products. The problem being, once you get their basic stuff then what? Wait until they come out with something new....I don't think so. Too much variety out there. Most companies out there today now offer great quality items and so different. If you go to any of the major craft stores that offer discounts and see what is out there... that is where you are going to shop. This economy does not lend itself to the likes of SU. It is unfortunate that they have to control people....this will wear on their demonstrators after a while. Read the comments....they speak for themselves. You keep doing what you're doing....you will find far more success than what you had with SU! Your future is waiting for your creativity and so are we!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for so many videos an inspiration. I love it.
ReplyDeleteHave a goog good time, also without SU! They need you....

Hi Valita,I love your blog and like to pop in and have a look at what you are doing when I have time.I am so sorry Stampin'Up! has done this to you,but it is no surprise.....their tactics are going to catch up with them very soon. They seem to think that by doing this, people will only buy their products.....well unfortuneatly for them it does not, they will just keep losing customers.I was a Stampin'Up! demonstrator before the new restrictions came in and they wanted me to sign the new contract.I resigned then and there,as I did not feel that it was ok to only advertise their products, when other products also went into the creations. There are so many lovely crafting goodies on the market, what gives them the right to wipe everyone else out.I still use their products that I purchased and still occasionally buy items, but not as much as I used too.......and I very rarely advertise their products on my blog these days.Shame on them.Well their loss and now better for you having no restrictions.Take care.
ReplyDeleteHave I been reading your blog for so long? I do remember when you joined, I think I told you then that you were sleeping with the devil. The sad thing is that there are other home demonstration companies with better products and policies you got sucked in to Stampin Up probably because you didn't know there were options. (sigh)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you shook off the harness of oppression. Look around, and see what you've been missing!
I'm so sorry you have been treated so badly Valita. It's their loss. I love your cards and tutorials and can't wait for the next one.
ReplyDeleteShame on SU for trying to control their demos to ONLY use their products online.
ReplyDeleteIt only makes buyers turn away from using their products. I support the decision you make and your creativity will continue to awe us without the use of SU products! You go girl! We love your blog and thank you for sharing your talents with us.
Hi Valita, Just wanted to say, you are one amazing and talented woman. We are all creative here in the crafting world, but their are a few that just have the special talent to do just about anything and you are one of them. I am from the states and I do feel stampin up has great product, but they need to step back and see that they have done you and others a grave injustice. They have made many sales off of your creativity and want you to know I appreciate you. I have learned so much from you. Instead of stampin up you are steppin up to be one of the most talented women out there for creativity. I myself will buy some of your tutorials, and support you. Sometimes the path takes a turn and I think you are on a golden path of opportunity, go create now for many companies.. I know they would love to have you. Look forward to seeing you spread your wings and see all the amazing things you can accomplish. Good luck to you Phyllis
ReplyDeleteI use their product and will continue to do so,but having said that, I DO NOT agree with their policy. and certainly not the way they treat people. I know from my own experience I have purchased more product than I would normally have because of designers and more creative people like yourself, teaching us how to best utilize the products. So what, if you use some other company's product. SU can't possibly supply everthing that we as the consumer will buy and use. They need to get real. They are NOT the only company out there.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your creativity with us and please continue to share.
I am so sorry for the bad treatment you have recieved. It is so uncalled for...........God bless you.
Their loss....YOUR Gain. I have always believed "things happen for a reason" and you will be greatly rewarded for sticking to what you believe in. Thanks for a wonderful blog and I wish you much success in the future.
ReplyDeleteOh my!! What a loss. God has given you the talent, you have used it to help the less fortunate to bloom (somewhat, ha), so I know that He will be with you to do even greater projects. Believe me, I will go along on your journey thru this site. You will not lose your friends.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, and many angel hugs. Vicky
Hi Valita -- I found you through SplitCoastStampers, which has also had its issues with SU and their unfortunate demo policy. I'm sorry that the arrogance and self-righteousness of a few have made it difficult for you. I love looking at your work, occasionally even attempt a few bits myself, and enjoy your blog immensely. Wishing you the very best...
ReplyDeleteOh Valita, I'm so sorry this has happened to you! I truly enjoy your creativity and phenomenal talent. It's a shame to lose you! Love your blog, and will continue to stop by for inspriation!
