Make your own Prima flowers

Hello from my house to yours. Weve had so much rain here everthing feels damp but I'm not complaining weve been needing this rain so bad and its a real blessing and answer to many prayers.
How many of you have a zillion and one punches...um er me...well dig them out and I'lll show you how to make these Faux Prima flowers. Ive never bought any Prima flowers the reason manly being that i have so many punches that i couldnt see any good excuse to buy more punched flowers. So i got to thinking and realised that i had a heap of handmade type cardstock which worked perfect. One thing i discovered was some punch shapes got that nice Prima look and others mmm were ok. Here the 10 petaled flowers worked best from L-Em.com (for the Aussie girls) but you may already have something much the same. Its also important you use a nice handmade cardstock for this project to get the look were after as it bends and moulds to shape very nicely. I found mine in one of the cheap shops... it always pays to get things when you see them cause you never know when you need it...this is the hauder comming out in me...heheh. So here are some pics of ones i quickly made... you experiment and and see what you can come up with.

Ok so heres how i made mine..........Punch out your flowers and make small cuts in between each second petal
next with a fine embossing tool score lines down the center of each double petal section and fold up to give it a good crease.

Lay your flower on a an embossing pad using the larger ball end of the embossing tool start making circle motions at the ends of each petal pressing the paper in. small tip I used a small pad saved from a packet of brads and its just the perfect size to take to card classes and not bulk up my bag.

Now when your happy with the indents youve made flip the flower over and give it a good firm press in the center of the flower which will make the flower pop up.

And your done ....how easy was that! so next time you need all those primas flowers but have all the punches save some money and give it a go...Valita

and a last thought

The Lord make His face shine upon you
and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face
toward you and give you peace.

We R renting for the moment, so we've not unpacked everything. We shall be buying a place soon & I long to be able to unpack everything & find it soon.
